the original thread was redemption as the alien commander's movement chamber activated ability. so it is in replace of that. instead of redeeming like a team beacon or individual beacon, leave that to the marines and instead have a different movement chamber ability. so a gorge or alien commander can click the movement chamber (called a Shift) and shoot out webs to limit enemy movement.
so it's not really anything like redemption, just something new to replace it. leave redemption/beacon to marines. pretty sure you'll still be able to warp to hive through the movement chamber
yeah but you'd still be able to shoot (well not for 1 second), and it wouldn't last long, just a quick, 2 second "stop moving for a sec while i get a bite off" type impairment.
when something dies with this upgrade, the dead body shoots out a couple of strings of web.
total amount depending on creature mass (onos has more than a skulk or gorge).

i like both of those ideas. but instead of your body exploding into babblers, make it the redemption replacement upgrade for skulks. causes parasited marines to explode upon death into 2 or 3 babblers which will then attack nearby marines.
