Bug With Alien Abilities/# Of Hives?

<div class="IPBDescription">.</div> This has happened to me about 3 times now, thought I'd mention it.
I'll have just joined a server as alien, we have two hives up. I evolve to lerk.
Then I try switching two spikes or umbra, and I notice that they're both redded out.
When I kill myself and re-evolve, it'll be fine again. Anyone else have this prob?

ive noticed that when you first join a game, all items but the origional wepon is unusable, even the pistol and knife for marine can't be used untill you die for me sometimes.

I didnt think you would have umbra until the 3rd hive is complete.. but spikes should work at any time

It's a bug. Sometimes happens with marine weapons too.
