I find the lack of screenshots, preview vids and other types of media to ogle, other then character profile pictures and a pretty logo (which ain't all that pretty actually), disturbing.
What really stands out to me is this: "We don't think the DOTA community is a toxic one at all." Translation: Prepare yourself to once again be flamed into nuclear hateblivion if you play this game, because the community of Dota and its clones is just fine as it is.

The DOTA community is so toxic that it's gone right around and become the antidote. The antidote for not being a complete and utter ###### internet ######.

I've never actually played DotA, but I've played HoN a lot. Is HoN like a carbon copy, are there subtle differences, or is it very different from DotA?
After all the years of DotA and HoN I'd really like to see them rethinking the map a bit. Obviously the heroes decide how the game plays out and the map is probably amazingly well refined after all the years, but it still feels a bit awkward to play the same map in 3 different games from different game generations.

Aside from some different heroes, a couple of differing mechanics (orbs (not)stacking, teleport-tower debuffs) and "metagame" (pushing is the only strat in HoN) it's mostly similar.
Also, the focus of pushing in HoN makes it quicker paced.

For a MOBA? That seems like what a majority of people would actively take interest against.

There's a few other notable strats in DotA, and I see many of them still in HoN.
1) Carry Farm. Seen also in HoN alot in lower ELO, but relies on everyone letting your one imba hero get massively overpowered while keeping theirs down. 2) Splitpushers like Phantom Lancer being able to easily push a lane solo and run away with little to no chance of being caught. And becoming farmed enough to wreak havoc on your team too. 3) ganksquad to the max. Everyone has a CC and a stun, get your 2 level advantage by squashing them every chance you get, steamroll. 4) There were heroes in DotA that could teleport around the map, making ganking and pushes way more... interesting. 5) Techies. Oh gods Techies.

Aw, they're resetting the hero list to the bare beginnings?

EDIT: By the way, in case you didn't know, the game is actually named "Dota 2". Due to legal issues, it's not just an abbreviation. Kind of funny.

Well, I knew that.
$1 million tournament for a game that's not even out yet.
All in due Valve Time I guess?

Roshan!
It looks much more colorful than HON, kinda like LOL, but also a lot darker than LOL.
I like the graphics so far. Never liked HON tbh, the game is just so... brown.
