is it lag?
sometimes when I use blink (fade trait) even if I point really far away and there is nothing in my way the fade swings his arms like he is blinking but nothing happens, no energy drain, no blink. what gives and does this happen to anyone else?

Here is what you do with blink. I did this really by accident and since then I have found it does work. Whenever you are about to blink jump before you do and you blink 80% of the time. Now distance is random but it is great for getting around quickly or setting up ambushes.

remember to aim a bit up and duck or duck jump

And if you can aim for a high wall or smooth ceiling, it is quite easy to blink.

Try aiming at "smooth" surfaces. Walls with lots of architecture around it are difficult to blink at (though sometimes easy to blink INTO).

You can also jump down and blink immediately to the floor, as long as the floor is smooth and has not extra brushes in it. I've teleported myself into plenty an elevator floor. For example, when I'm in the ... err .. middle hive on NS_Nothing (can't believe I forgot the name), I often take a skulk up to the catwalk high above to morph into a Fade. Just incase some heavy tank come barreling through. I will then just hop over the side and port instantly into one of the exit hallways to commence my destruction.

Funny things can happen when you use blink. Once I saw a pack of marines on the other side of the room, I switched to blink. Teleported (amazingly it worked), but I didn't came to the otherside instead just halfway of the room which unfortunetly was a pit, I fell down and died, followed by many rofls and lols.

Jump and then crouch and it will work every time as long as your path is clear..its just really had to find a completely cliping free path. Best used in open areas.

yeah, basically you gotta stick with the jump-crouch method now. hopefully it'll be refined in some patches to make it a bit easier to use.

Another nice use: its possible (although VERY difficult) to blink oneself towards a high up vent and walk right into it, even if its like 40 ft off the ground. I've only managed this a couple of times, but its incredibly cool. You jump, crouch, aim just above the vent, hit blink, aim straight towards vent, run forward. If all goes well, as you begin to fall, you'll catch the edge of hte vent and climb in. If you miss, well, then you fall and break your leg.
