Does UWE get low priority from VALVe for Steam updates?

<div class="IPBDescription">Compared to Bethesda atleast</div>I don't know how many of you play Fallout New Vegas, but a new patch came out today that fixed a lot of stuff. It also introduced a huge bug where many enemies in the game were basically invincible.

Bethesda found the issue and released another patch on Steam with in about 3 hours of it being reported and the patch was distributed to players with in minutes of them uploading it to Steam...

Now... I'm sure we're all aware of some supposed "delays" with Steam distributing UWE's patches to NS2... I'm just curious if UWE knows that there is some sort of priority system with Steam... or maybe there are other reasons behind the scenes here.

Something to chew on.

It could just be UWE's style. Who really knows how much work is involved in publishing a patch? I don't and I'm a scientist.

They're a small team and the hassle of a patch every day, or every handful of days, may outweigh the benefits.

I think they have to upload the patch to the steam servers, so depending on how large the patch is and what your upload rate is, it might take a while. Then it's up to Valve to pull the switch on their end.

Its totally random, sometimes its goes through instantly and its up before a confirmation e-mail is even recieved from Steam. Then it takes random valve times for it to populate to different regions.

Not to mention that a released game will likely take priority over an alpha with an incredibly small playerbase testing it.

Don't forget that it might only take a few minutes to upload a patch that is only a few MB big to fix one issue, while can take hours to upload a 500MB patch, both of these then have to get pushed out to all the steam content servers.

    ^that

Though it's also true most of these Alpha patches have been rather large and overhauling a lot of the game code. That Fallout patch might have just been a tiny tweak. (but seriously, suddenly make all the enemies invincible for every player in the world? That's one helluva bug XD)

I am really disapointed with New Vagus, If i was playing an "Alpha" or "Beta" weather its part of a "Pre-Order Privlage" or a "Free Beta" i would have no beef but a full retail release with these sorts of problems that I was expecting to play through flawlessy, ugh, I have hit some storlyline show stoppers, i cant compleate the game from one if the save points I kept to try different endings. I Saved the president now it wants me to save him again now I got rid of Mr House.
I found a shed load of bugs..

Also same mistake twice!??? You cant continue your ventures once you complete the game, uhhhh Hello .... They didnt remember the huge outcry from last time now they have to roll out a patch.. again.. to fix that?

Where did they go wrong this time round.?

Anyway, if there is no majour problems then yeh, "Maybe", "MAYBE" you will see a patch :) Just Maybe.

    Maybe..

    Edit: Possibly
