Alien structures

<div class="IPBDescription">Look at the new piccies for details!</div>hey, anyone notice in the new pictures from Flayra's playtest diary, that there are alien structures built by the builder present in them?  If you look closely, you can see how cool they look!  Then of course, i realize that if i had only downloaded the mapping utilities, i could've probably seen them earlier, but anywho, i'd just like to point that out, and that they do indeed look cool...methinks i'll be an alien for the sheer unbalanced joy of them, and the neato building stuff's.

    ya i knoticed that too, but not everything is in the tech release just some basic models to make sure ur map works and to see how things fit, those arnt in the tech release and niether are any of the classes/levels for aliens

    Actually, the alien buildings you're talking about aren't in the NSTR2. They're new.

    Yup, that Bob is a real cutey. Can you house train them? Oh wait, there might be some territory issues with the local mutts...

    Oh well, they dfeficate in my front lawn, let ol' Bob run some pest control. ;P

    Yea, he sure is a cutie when you *cant see anything but his profile* heh

    I'll have to say, the balloon rat (alien resource collector) is pretty cool (although you might say he really sucks.. heh heh...) and the spike thing (what is that, a turret? or an unpgrade structure? either way its cool) looks really great in that nice glow from the furnace <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> makes me want to sit and watch the sunset with a cuddly little pudgy <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    And that particular Lev1 was being interviewed by 20/20, as a whistleblower for unsafe alien working conditions near the hive. They had him in shadow to protect his identity...

    Those arms shows that a nasty builder (as in rush-tactics) is ready to feast on comrade bob.

    The arms you see are pure placeholder for all aliens. When the mod releases, each alien will have his own viewable arm/tentacle/spikes/tongue/eyestalk/bile launcher/claw/jehovah's witness pamphlet/etc. model.

    Automatic weapons, claws, spikes, flamethrowers, nukes - OK.

    But implementing a jehovah's witness pamphlet as weapon - <b>that's</b> mean.

    I think MonsE just came up with the deadliest weapon ever conceived in an FPS.  Screw the BFG or the Redeemer.
