It bounces off walls currently, but explodes on impact with the floor. It also seemingly floats through the air, and the explosion effect runs over about 4 seconds. I love how it takes out hydra/aliens as effectively as it does. You can obliterate egg stock piles in no time, and kill multiple aliens in one shot.
But on topic: The NS1 launcher was flawed because of that. It was hard to hit aliens unless the grenade struck home, and usually you ended up having to spam doorways because you had to rely on splash damage being 'somewhere' near the alien team.
I think they should just have more launch power, so that when you aim at a wall to bounce it round a corner, it actually reaches it and manages to bounce.
That way you know it is going to explode on impact, or after the initial bounce. Otherwise they become unpredictable spam.
I'd suggest two firemodes, a contact grenade which has limited radius/damage and moves quickly, and a more NS1 style slow, timed function for structures.
That way you can get a good direct weapon which isn't overpowered, and a good anti structure weapon.
At the moment it's sort of a noob tube, as in it's really hard to counter because it kinda eliminates the alien movement advantage.
You have to remember that in these builds people are taking huge risks. In the final version you certainly will not have marines pegging it down to the alien hive and firing off all their grenades into it.
It needs to be as accurate as it is, because now you only have 5/6 grenades not 20 (or whatever it was).
Now you can take out multiple aliens in one shot, you can't spam, and you have to be (pretty much) in view of what you are about to hit.
