It looks a bit different apart from what I would imagine. But quite logically follows the way the onos got remade so. Anyway, awesome trailer and great its finally here!

    Great job, would be good to see some HQ model shots though. I like the way it sort of 'crawls' around now. The walking fade always seemed a bit odd looking to me.

    We'll not "public" beta really, but opened to both sets of pre-orders I believe.

    Fade looks like the Skulk on Steroids. Not bad, just sayin'. Trailer itself is awesome :D Hope the server and networking problems have been sorted for Beta. FPS cant wait for now, now that it's playable.

    haha i was hoping for something ultra cool but that looks quite... uhm... this little mouth, the underbite let him look let a geek and his belly looks like he should do some situps, all in all too less details, or too much you could have covered him totally black, but the blink effect looks quite cool!

    it was standard in ns1 that you shout where the fade is going to be, not where you see him actually, now it makes even more sense... it just look you cant speed blink blink blink.. it looks like there is a cooldown for blink?!?!?! UAAAARGS!




    haha sorry, first impression ... its a big hit for me, i want to see it ingame first :)

    I don't like any of the still photos of the Fade, but I agree that I DO like the way it walks. It was seeing him in motion that let me "accept" the design, I think.

    Love that the Fade is coming in the next patch! ("tomorrow" being subject to reasonable doubt)

    The fade looks great, for sure, and I like the mini trailer they made out of the reveal. The end was especially nice. Fade blinks away, upgrade to focus, blink back and slay marine.


    I remember old school blinking being a bit tricky sometimes, so it'll be interesting to see how it works in game.

    No.

    But you are able to create an alpha game, and type in console cheats 1, join aliens, and type in fade to become the fade. Of course the 3rd person or 1st person model aren't visible, but you can test out the blink, swiping, etc. Just no way of actually seeing the fade.

    Yeah the bizarre look of NS1 was what I had hoped for, more Cthulu inspired!!
    Some features are too human I agree, like eyes.
    But seeing as how they also changed the onos it was a bit expected.
    As everyone else I love how it moves and the blinking behaviour in the trailer is awesome :D

    I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed with the fade design, and he was the one I was really looking forward to. I love the way he walks, that animation looks awesome. But the model itself looks a little... bland maybe. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but he doesn't seem to have much personality. The other aliens all felt like they captured the vibe of their NS1 selves and added another level of character. Maybe I need a good side-by-side comparison of the NS1 fade and the new fade. He kinda seems similar. Except now he's a lot more hunched over. Dealing with old age is hard for some aliens-- Someone needs to photoshop the fade holding a walker!

    So far this is the one design I haven't liked and I'm sorry that it's Mr. Fade. At least he looks really fun to play!

    Lol the shotgun is a sucky nerf gun in the video. I'd throw that ###### away also if after 2 blasts at close range to the shoulder that the fades arm shows no sign of being blasted flesh.

    Lol the marine was fast enough to dodge the fades swing, and strong enough to block the fades blows, and beating it with the rifle looked to be more effective then shooting it with a shotgun!! Therefore if we got like 3 other marines in there that their'd be a good chance of beating the fade down to the point of capturing it lmao.

    Marines need baseball bats asap!! And bear traps!!

    I was hoping he would be more streamlined and "sleek", maybe a bit darker like the original fade.

    Currently (dont shoot me) I think he looks pretty derpy. Like he blinked into the back of a bus one too many times.

    YEAH! I like!
    The blink seems to rock as well, but somehow I think it's just a cloaking on steroids, but that should clean up a slot for sensory upgrades.

    Finally the creatures seem to be from the same bench designwise, mostly at least.


    ~ anyone else thinks a sophisticated melee combat beyond blocking and attacking would be cool? ~

    It is great, but the skin needs some sort of sub surface scattering or something. The skin doesn't look that organic.
