To shut vents, you have to order a marine equipped with a welder to weld it up. They can only weld vents with an icon floating in front of them, however.

To open/close doors, when you move your cursor over it, it should turn into a hand. Clicking will open or close the door, move the elevator, open the hatches, rotate the thingy, etc. You can't manipulate all doors though.

To give waypoints, you just select some marines and right-click at the location where you want them to go. Clicking on an unfinished building will give them a build waypoint, and clicking a completed building will give them a guard waypoint.

Unfortunately, there aren't commands for making them do what you ask them to yet. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hope this helps!

How do u set a waypoint all marines can see? It's hard to select them all, how do you do this? Any certain keys do select all marines too? Thanks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Not yet. But there will be a 'select all marines' hotkey in an upcoming patch. Whew. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

For now you've just gotta try and get em all in the selection box, which is near impossible to do when they're off on their own. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

isn't it desirable to be able to make groups of marines and tag them, like a proper RTS.
all marines on squad 1 would have a 1 in front of their name, so thay can see who's on their squad.
and the comm would have a few hotkeys to select squads.

Of course it's desirable. In a perfect world, the selection keys would work the same as in other RTS games - CTRL+click sets units to a hotkey number, Alt+click removes from the current group, and Shift+click adds to the current group, or some variation of that.

The problem with the Half-Life engine is that it doesn't support 2-key commands. If you wanted to assign 2 marines to a number, for example, you would have to press a single key, and another one to select them later on. Half-Life wasn't supposed to be used like this, but I'm not complaining. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
