Marine/Alien RTS

<div class="IPBDescription">Different styles</div>A quick suggestion. To further split the comm experience with Alien and Marines:

- Marines can upgrade RTs 3 times for better production (already in place)
- Aliens can not upgrade RTs but they have more armor plus the comm has an ability to increase all RTs production for a short duration. A "res" rush. Being of one hive mind it makes sense to have this kind of coordination and it gets away from being the same as the marines.

Cons - No idea how to make it so it isnt a "Always use it when it's ready" button. Maybe using it causes the mini map to become distorted for the "res rush" as if the mass gain of res is overloading the alien common mind.

Even if this isnt agreed with, i personally would like to see something different than just upgrade RTs to lv3 for both sides. =)

    Make it a Gorge job... as well as the rush.

    So - heal spraying a res tower will upgrade it, and three in a row cause a rush.

    Not sure if it is the right role for the Gorge, but it would probably be better than the comm doing it say.

    I like that. Comm builds it and gorge can heal spray it to "charge" it up. Full charge causes a "Res Rush". Maybe indicated by it glowing a spectrum from green to red? Once the rush is complete it resets to green.

    Yup, and the Gorge can do a little dance to celebrate and then get some MAD speed boost as well. Heh.

    No. Then gorges will have to heal spray RTs all game. The comm will ###### at them for "not rushing the resource harvesters". Gorging should not be a sacrificial boring chore so the rest of one's team can play optimally. Such ideas are terrible game design. Gorging should be fun and exciting. Not clicking on resource towers to get some invisible abstract boost for the REST of the team. No again.

    Also, to the Original Topic, that sounds retarded. Marines can gather more resources than Aliens? How did you think this would be easily balanced? What purpose does it serve? We're just going to increase marine resource costs to counter-balance so it all evens out anyway. Why go through the headache of putting it back to evenly matched "but cool and asymmetric also lol" when it could be avoided entirely by just starting out evenly matched? The cost heavily outweighs the gain.

    Flat no in an RTS. Unless you're Blizzard and have 200 employees and five hundred jabillion dollars from WoW and a 5 year development cycle and can tell your investors PLUS Activision to ###### off because "It's not done yet. It's done when it's done". Unknown Worlds Entertainment is not Blizzard and can't make "cool" decisions which are enormously hard to balance because they just don't have the people, time, or money for such risky ventures.
