Help For A New Player

<div class="IPBDescription">"I should go where?"</div> Okay, I read the beautifully produced manual with the download and read the sticky beginners posts on this board, but I'm pretty lost. Are there any other manuals or help guides I can read? For example: I was dropped a welder and told to fix the structures. How can you tell which are damaged? I think I'm missing some basic concepts. Helpful comments from team members are usually of the "You **obscenity** - go play somewhere else" variety.

Thanks,
FF

IMO, the best way to learn is to play, play, ask for advices, play, read forums, play, and play. I suggest to stick to the same map at the beginnings, and I strongly suggest ns_bast . I once asked which one would be best to start playing, and the majority told me bast, and I learned very easily <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Happy hunting !

You can also do a search in the <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?c=5' target='_blank'>Natural Selection Organized Play</a> area - it has tons of great guides, strategies, and more for every class and every team.

Frantic, try asking what u have to do and tell people that you are new to the game. if you go along pretending u know what to do and do it all wrong people are gonna give you that type of message ("You **obscenity** - go play somewhere else" variety.) also if you see a team mate try following him and talking to him. eg. (*u see nate walking or building* "hey nate can u show me where to go or can u lead me") most likely they will know what they are doing and they can lead you to the main choke points of the map where you are needed and can be as helpful as possible.

    This siter has amazing guides:
    <a href='http://nstactics.lanvancouver.com/' target='_blank'>http://nstactics.lanvancouver.com/</a>

They're long, but they need to be long to tell you what you need.

Playing can help alot, but if other players fail to tell you what you need to know you wont improve, most people want to play and not tell everyone else how to play.
