E.V.A. is not only the name of the station, but also the female Artificial Intelligence that controls it. She doesn't do more than inform passengers and workers of current situations, as well as monitor all reactors and hazardous materials. You may get to hear her speak in-game as the Kharaa attempt to take over. E.V.A. takes place on an space station orbiting a distant colonized planet. The ship itself contains shops, small amusement parks, and has a couple hotels inside (this is just to give you an idea of how large this place is, these will not show up in game except for small shops that won't be accessible).

Also, E.V.A. doesn't stand for anything. I just think it looks cool.

Layout [6 Tech Points / 7 Resource Nodes]:
<img src="http://filesmelt.com/dl/Map_Layout_2.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Green lines are main paths that Onos can take.

Progress:
Alien Start - 80% Done
-Finish outside skirt
-Do something with the ceiling (I'm bad at ceilings)
Marine Start - 20% Done
-Have to completely re-do all the walls
-Re-make command station area
Cross Roads - 100 % Done
Vents - 2% Done

Everything else I haven't started on yet. After I finish the Marine Start and add it into the main level, I'll work on the layout as posted above.

    2nd pic
    - pipes look strange, usually they;d have something supporting them if they were hanging the way they are however pipes are more likely to run along the wall or ceiling as opposed to snake like yours do
    - it looks a bit off where those 2 textures meet because of the texture alignment. i suggest using a trim texture about 8 units thick to box off the internal part from the external part.

Thanks for point that one out. That ceiling texture is supposed to be the same, but for some reason it got changed >_>

As for support things for pipes, that can be done easily.

also try mixing the walls up so they arent just straight up and down. but some diagonals or curves in there, maybe some support beams that go across the ceiling to make it look more 3D

    Remember to add vents appropriately!
Some of us absolutely love vent stalking.

Oh hi. I would like you all to take a look at these comparisons. While looking for the flash drive that I seem to have lost, I happened to have found my old one. And on the old flash drive, I had my ns_eva map for Natural Selection. I know it's not the latest build, as it's missing rooms and hallways, and some other stuff.

Take a look at what the hive looked like, and what it looks like now.

    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns_eva_rrbeta3a0000.bmp" target="_blank">Old Hive</a>

    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns2_2011-01-27_20-26-08-78.bmp" target="_blank">New Hive</a>

Here are a couple of other comparisons of the hive.

    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns_eva_rrbeta3a0001.bmp" target="_blank">Onos Door (Old)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns2_2011-01-27_20-26-18-48.bmp" target="_blank">Onos Door (New)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns_eva_rrbeta3a0002.bmp" target="_blank">Hive Pipes (Old)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns2_2011-01-27_20-26-33-08.bmp" target="_blank">Hive Pipes (New)</a>

    But wait, there's more!

Here's a couple of screenshots of the Marine Start.

    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns_eva_rrbeta3a0006.bmp" target="_blank">Full View (Old)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns2_2011-01-27_20-28-18-66.bmp" target="_blank">Full View (New)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns_eva_rrbeta3a0005.bmp" target="_blank">Pipes (Old)</a>
    <a href="http://filesmelt.com/dl/ns2_2011-01-27_20-29-06-95.bmp" target="_blank">Pipes (New)</a>

I can't quite remember if there's any significant changes to the Marine Start in any of the later builds in the old version, but what I have now is good enough.

Well, that's all I really have...

Actually, you know what? Have a link to the old verison of ns_EVA. Not much to look at in it, but as you might see, the Hive was the main focus of what I was working on, so I put quite a bit of detail into that area. You can break the metal bars on the windows, as well as the support beam holding up the bridge. The bridge isn't 100% right in this build. It was fixed in a later one. It was supposed to act as a 2nd path for the Onos/Gorge.

    Download: <a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K9Q63JKE" target="_blank">http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K9Q63JKE</a>

The Ready Room is something else I spent some time on. It's something I'm currently re-doing in NS2.

I also apologize for not having a custom skybox. The map DID have one, but I don't seem to have the files anywhere and all the links I have are dead.
