require assitance/information with purchasing ns2

<div class="IPBDescription">for every 1 out there that bought ns2 by pre-ordering online.</div>Ok guys you may think i am naive or a bit foolish but please just bare with me, this is a highly complicated situation for me and i can only sum it out with the followings things, so please help me out, despite the *oddness* of the topic, if you feel its odd.

OR ignore what i just written above and help me out:

When you go to www.naturalselection2.com/buy and CLICK pre-order standered edition ($34.95) it does 1 thing that spooks me insansly, this is that when you click to pre-order the game, on the PayPal site it says that i am by default purchasing 2 quantities of natural selection 2 pre order (standered edition)

now why is that? or is it just me?

when i order the natural selection 2 pre-order (standered edition) how exactly is it done? what do i recieve when i purchase this? do i get a cd key? Do i require steam to register this? please somebody tell me exactly what steps are taken whether it is through steam or other things etc.

BASICLY the main question is what are the steps to having ns2 pre-ordered on steam and ready 2 go.

It could just be you clicked it twice at some point and it added two copies to your purchase, you should be able to edit the quantity though before clicking checkout and buy (I just tried it and you can edit the quantity field to change it back to just 1 copy).

Once you buy it you should receive your cd key via email, it is this that you put into Steam to unlock and activate the game and get it downloading into your steam account.

ok thanks for the assurance on what to do but can i know?

the email that i can specify? or the one that is associated with my paypal (or is pay pal associated with an email or not?)

because im gonna use my friends pay pal but im not certain on this.

Click 'purchase' on the main site

your taken to paypal

click 'checkout'

your taken to the checkout detail entry

enter your email address there

the unlock code will be sent to that email

enter that code into steam

download and play

And in case you want to change that email address you can always go to

and change the registered email account

Yeap, when you purchase it you receive the CD Key in the Email. You need Steam to register that CD Key. Enter it in Steam and poof it will download and you will be ready to play.

Rumor has it that freemails like hotmail and yahoo don't get emails or they are instantly sent to the spam folder. Gmail works fine however...
