It's even more jerky now - totally unplayable. an online first person shooter game should give atleast 50fps in a heavy/busy scene, NS2 give only about 4fps.

The game doesn't start in 64bit W7 at all. PC-objects are so jumpy ingame that it seems like you don't have interpolation/smoothing code at all, as if you were only using direct data from packets. Is the netcode running on its own tread ? Is the netcode holding the framerate ?

Seems like you have good artists in your team.

Good luck with it ! :)

I am running the game in 64-Bit Windows 7 just fine. Also I think saying that the game MUST run at 50 FPS for it to be playable is kind of outrageous especially if ###### is going off all over the place. What kind of hardware are you running? I get around 40-50 fps average (on high settings) but I have a pretty beefy system.

What spec hardware do you have?

I get 50-70fps in the ready room and 30-60 in combat..

I agree some things could be smoother but in general it's quiet playable!

Runs fine on my Win7 64-bit system, I'm pulling around 50fps average in first person and about 35fps in commander mode. For your post to really be useful, you should be posting your system specs. You might also consider posting any bug reports or issues up on their getsatisfaction site, I believe that's still their preferred method of hearing about issues.

jeah, 50 fps here too, probably more. Win7 64bit.

While i agree that there seems to be no good prediction yet and especially skulks seem to teleport around, i'm absolutely sure that will become better, and i think it has something todo with the physics engine.

so no worries, everything will get better, this is a beta.

NS2 should run 60 FPS on good computers.

What is your computer? It might be terrible and nothing a game developer can do will ever fix that.

Hell, even on my not-so-amazing laptop it's playable at 15-24 fps. Win7 64bit.

    Desktop gets 60+ @ 1080p.

Must be your PC sp1ce. Something to do with it anyways.

Since the last updates we all get good FPS. I don't know, perhaps he is trying to play the game on a netbook.

Win 7 home Premium 64 bit here...and it runs.

PaiSand , with your constant harping on about new posters it looks like you are trying to troll the newcomers all the time, yeah sure some may be trolls but I suggest instead of attacking new posters you report them to the mods and let the mods decide mate, otherwise it looks like NS2 has a hostile fanboi issue.

Well first off your wrong, the game runs perfectly fine on my Windows 7 64 bit, so you've obviously made an un-informed assumption.I get an average 40-60 fps in game on my GTX 460 and i7 processor so its playable, maybe just not on your machine. 50 fps in game might be expected of a AAA game but first off this is not even final, this is a Beta and this isn't a AAA game being worked on by dozens of highly paid professionals, this game is being developed by a couple devoted guys who spend a dramatically large portion of their lives on this particular game, so obviously the development cycle is going to be slower than someone who's only frame of reference to game development is from AAA companies that can pump out a game every year.

Just give the guys time and i'm sure that you'll find the optimizations that will make the game more enjoyable for you.

Pfft I was able to record on my 2.2Ghz Core2Duo with a HD4850 512Mb/2Gb OCZ... It runs mighty fine if I am actually able to record @ 20-30fps :P
