Some help with system requirements

So I love the developers for this game because they communicate with the community and put in an admirable amount of work into their game. So I really want to get NS2 as it looks like a ton of fun. The problem that I have is that my computer is a tad dated and I don't know if my computer could handle it. My computer can handle the specs given to my by the FAQ, but I've read this might be an unrealistic assessment. So here's my specs, can my Com handle this game?

(Computer Specs)

-Pentium® 4 CPU
-3.00 GHz 2.99 GHz
-1.00 GB of Ram

I don't quite understand if that's everything or what they do. So if I left something out tell me and I'll edit it in.

Thanks in Advance and Happy Holidays Everyone

Hmm, that singlecore Pentium4 and 1Gb of ram might be very troublesome currently. What is your 3dcard btw...

I'm not a 100% but I think it's 512Mb Radion Or something a long those lines. How would I check this? once I find it I'll edit this post, but I'm pretty sure it's 500 something. Also thanks for the quick reply

You could type dxdiag in run on your start menu, just go to run and type dxdiag in this little box.

Now on this new window have a look at display 1 and tel us with the name if that device is. Also you're probably running windows XP I assume? Also I don't want to get your hopes up, but NS2 beta currently is quite a hefty game due to unoptimized issues. I'm am fairly certain your pc can't run it at the moment, I'm afraid. Especially with only 1Gb of ram :(

Here's what I'm running (top left of the video) on the latest build, now my pc isn't brand new either, but it does have a bit more power then yours and is just able to run at those settings on the vid (topleft)

It might run on the lowest settings possible, but the small RAM size is a big issue. Alongside the aging processor (Intel Pentium 4)

highly doubt you'll be able to run with a p4 and 1gig of ram right now...

I'm not gonna edit my last post actually. That way there's a notification of when I responded. Ok so heres the specs

Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP home edition (5.1, Build 2600)
    System Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation
    System Model: Dimension 4600
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS Plus Version 1.10 A07
    Processes: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00GHz
    Memory: 1022MB RAM

Sorry it took so long, had to manually copy it =P. Also I don't know how much of that is actually use full. I just copied anything that seemed like it would be important.

PS: that accent is pretty awesome, mind if I ask what nationality it is? =3
I wondered what accent that reminded me off, you somewhat sound like Sean Connery, just a little.

I'm Dutch and I hear that Sean Connery resemblance thing a lot, even if I don't hear it though *so confused*

You should be proud Sean Connery Supposedly has a very sexy accent, with that voice you could get out off all kinds of parking tickets "Oh I'm sorry officer, but your looking so good tonight" you'll melt some hearts. Anyways So whats the verdict? would you say I can't play this game unless I upgrade my com? Or could I only play it on low? From the video you showed me this game looks pretty nifty even on low graphics.

Well that's a major bumer =P I guess I'll either have to wait until it's more optimized or beef up my computer. Although if I were to get 2GB of ram would this game run properly? Or is this one of those games that I should get a new computer if I want to play? Sorry for the excess of questions I appreciate the help and thanks in advance.

just for reference, my old rig was a p4 2.4, 1 gig of ram and a radeon 9700. i played the alpha shortly before i got my new computer, and the only map i was ever able to load was junction. i couldn't run at ridiculously awful/640x480, because i was getting 1-5 fps and textures/walls would randomly flicker in and out of existence as if parts of it were going from wireframe to normal - because of my graphics card.

NS2HD has a antimatter-matter powered computer though. Even though I can play, he is playing on fullHD/High/shadows on, a few steps beyond what I can do :P
