realistic feel of the weapon you carry is important. Shotguns especially require better recoil system than the current one we have - when shooting them they feel like rifles or any other weapon. And they don't honestly look like shotguns, you only notice them by hearing them. The model of the shotgun may need to change.
I'm not talking about any huge recoils, but their should be better difference between shooting rifle and shotgun - recoil wise.

I think the model for the shotgun is fine. It is a furturistic game and in my opinion the weapons do not have to look realistic.
I like the look of the shotgun and the other weapons. The shotgun looks bulky and looks like it could pack a punch and it does just that.
1. the shotgun doesn't have much recoil when shooting it. When i shoot it, it doesn't feel much different than rifle expect for the sound.
2. shotgun itself doesn't look/feel like i'm holding shotgun.
I'm aware its futuristic weapon, but they should look more apart from each other. In ns1 shotguns/rifles and GL's all look completely different from each other.
Maybe its just me, but rifle and shotgun do look the same and the shotgun doesn't have much recoil when shooting it.
So if the look of the weapon can't be changed, at least better recoil added to the shotgun would be nice. So when shooting it, it would feel like it.

You think theres any recoil with that? i dont think so, call this topic closed because recoil from shotguns are history.

Bigger spread / wider firing cone
More damage close up, much less at medium to long range
I think it's mainly the soundscape and muzzleflashes that need more work, honestly.
anyone else agrees please say so the possibility of it being increased is for certain.
i also have an idea, what if when your firing the shot gun your crosshair doesnt move and your position stays the same BUT your model that is holding the shotgun will look like it has a bit of a recoil kick back as a visual.
so then it looks like after every shot the gun raises a bit

i think the better comes after it can work.
let this topic come alive later when newer editions of beta are releases... who knows maybe they already planned to improve shotgun (or not)
overall they gotta make it look like when it shoots theres a visual of the marine's arm carrying the gun tilts back a bit every shot or something, idk.

but i think from a close to medium range its a little wacky. Nothing much, apart from the awkward way that the bullets spread.
