Alien structure placement by proxy

An ability that allows the alien commander to work together with a gorge and place a structure by proxy, I.E. the commander activates the ability and selects the structure, and a selected gorge then gets to place the structure. Does not require a a drifter. Increased carbon costs plus additional gorge plasma costs.

Allows placement of structures in places that are otherwise not reachable from commander view. Allows structure building when no drifter is available while resources are plenty. Increases importance of the gorge and commander-gorge interaction. Makes alien structure placement less predictable.

That means aliens could place structures in places where marines cant destroy them, e.g. vent shafts.

Too complicated IMO. Gorges can't really go anywhere inaccessible either without a one-time gestate. Drifters can fly, if a place is meant to be buildable then comms should just be able to build there.

"meant to be buildable" is what I have a problem with. Part of the fun of NS1 was the players being the ones deciding where it's buildable. Random and awkward chamber placement was a good thing imo. Right now there's too much power in the hand of the mappers (sorry guys), if a vent is invisible in commander view then the commander can't build there. This also restricts the three dimensional aspects of combat. And skulks can get everywhere and gestate there.

peregrinus, every place that aliens can get into is probably also reachable for marines with jetpacks.

How complicated it is depends on how it's implemented.
