    Not too mention the additional particle effects, ambient sounds, and polished off by improved lighting and atmospheric lighting!

    I think the Kharaa are going to be a HUGE (if not THE) selling point for NS2 once it hits v1.0 release.

    Looks like the 3rd picture is new concept art, with those cocoons on the ground :)

    Don't forget Babblers, they add to the atmosphere as well!

    Will we be seeing (hearing) the new commander / player order sounds in 162? The ones from the Fade video sounded cool :)

    The ones in Fade video were just for the video. I fully expect UW to redo all of the classic NS rine commander sounds "Move to your waypoint", "Prooceed to waypoint", etc... that extra o was intentional.

    I am not kidding but these "chchchchchch" sound (from hydras?!) make me like "what the f...., is it my coffee brewer? wait i don't have one (because i heard that sound 80% of my life at home :P), is it my neighbor?"
    After i turn off the speaker i find out its the game, haha it was so weird, now i love the sound. (start at 1:43+ in the video )

    I am really loving the latest build,
    I think the whole game is going to change once we get dynamic infestation in the game. That is really going to be super. I can't wait.

    I just hope the engine get better stability, with all of that active within the hive, plus DI it will be pretty heavy on fps, and our graphics card. Aside from that, just amazing - beautiful to look at. Great graphics might be selling point for some games, but NS should be more than that - make sure we keep ns1 spirit alive.

    I hope you will re-make the glowies, so they are actual models (that you would be able to shoot!) :P and they should also find a spot on the ground near the hive and turn to eggs, that would be cool. I know you talked about this in one of your old podcast, i just want to know if youre still going with the old idea, and the current glowies just a substitutes for the real ones ;) keep up the good work guys :)

    If NS2 doesn't have at least some of the old epic sounds like "We need better players!" and of course "Now, we d0nce!" I want my money back! ;p

    Seriously though, keep at least the easter egg sounds.

    I lolled at the "these effects have minimal impact on frame-rates". Oh yes indeed, my 30 fps went down to 25 fps, thats just 5 fps for all the effects. Indeed a very minimal loss in frames.

    When I first played 161, I noticed immediately and loved all the new sounds. I'm so glad Unknown Worlds are putting in alot of effort in the sound department, things sound great so far but can't wait for the many new sounds yet to be implemented.
