<div class="IPBDescription">this is a very hardcore glitch and explain why its hard to...as skulk</div>So now i want talk about this big bug, its general talk about the marine hitbox or whatever they have, its out of the world.
This explains why marines are hard to hit if they jump or jump+crouch and run in cycles...
In my mind a very big bug/glitch, or course its a beta but it have to be fixed fast!
So i hope this thread get more attention then it could have on getsatisfaction.
Because i never ever get any feedback on gsf... even the reload bug is in (in 3 versions its even not fixed) which gives a marine like 100 bullets.
This explains why aliens and marines walk in their own "collision-thing" sometimes.
Maybe the devs. can explain how it works ^^

Heh, it's like bomb boosting in metroid, except using your own collision hull. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the same issue is causing the insta-self-grenade bug as well. I don't think it's a problem with crouch but the way your own hull interacts with you or your projectiles.

That is certainly... very strange. Yeah, it does look like an issue with how the player interacts with their own hitbox and may not be a problem with the hitbox itself, but who knows?

Heh, the funny thing is, this sort of behavior could make a very fun core gameplay mechanic if a game was designed around it. XD

    Good find though!

There's a much easier way to replicate this.

Go to the ladder in the corner of the marine spawn in Tram as a marine, go to the top, hold duck and move up. You're stuck.

It's been around for previous builds in certain ways, mainly, the fact a fade can blink in to faces :P

You can do this on rockdown as well. In the eastern corner of marine start.
Also, I've seen a lerk do this in several places in rockdown. I have no idea how he did it.
But he managed to get inside the beam holding up the rocks in the roof in the center of west. Also in the roof of marine start.
Slightly more annoying since he was able to gas through the ceiling..

I don't think this is caused by the player hitting themselves (though I'll double check that code to make sure it isn't) -- otherwise it would happen everywhere. It seems like this is an issue with the code that makes you walk up stairs, and in this case the wall is being treated like a stair.
