<div class="IPBDescription">Gestation and audio suggestion.</div>Would it be within an interesting gameplay feature to allow skulks on walls the option to gestate into Lerks off from the floor? Granted you would look very out of place and vulnerable in 162, but I can see it being not so bad once Dynamic Infestation is implemented.
Also would a Lerk with more slightly more avian vocalizations be apt? That whale-like melon/cassowary-like cask on the head seems like a resonant chamber. I was reading my "The Making of Starship Troopers/Jurassic Park" book and there was an article about making the Bug and dinosaur sound F/X. Not chirps, clicks or warbles but maybe parts of a call or song distorted with something mammalian mixed in to make it uniquely alien. They ended up using various bird, insect, crocodilian, mammalian (elephant/seal/walrus, etc.) and mixing them to get realistic vocalizations.
For example.
Avian Vocalization Center (the stuff is under a CC license.)

Of which I found this maybe which the first :04 sounds interesting for some kind of taunt.

Or maybe one of these short screeches mixed with the penguin call for Lerk death.
