Or maybe the flames get distortingly bright, similar to seeing other players and structures while in alien vision mode (the orange fill and yellow outlines)

We havent even had time to try the new alien vision and theres calls for nerfs on that feature...

Considering the lack of friendly fire, how difficult would it be for a Flamer using Marine to hose down a dark room and light up all the Aliens in the room as it is ? Especially if the technical issues concerning volumetric flame are sorted and its implemented.

The suggested idea would be just adding insult to the injury, its not like a flaming Skulk can hide quietly in the shadows using the alien vision ( call it darksight ? :P ).
The Flamer is a potent support weapon, it messes up Fades abilities and can still burn down Skulks in a hurry despite the direct damage nerf so it is by no means a weak weapon.
It is just no longer able to allow a solo marine to march into a hive room and do so much damage alone, this is especially important with the DI coming in.

if there was friendly fire there would be no problem and not a single difference will be added for marines, they can still shoot around with the flamer its really easy to not hit your teammates.

only 1 thing will happen if you add this=

griefers... people who team kill for fun... want that? wow your smart.

even if the admin will ban them from that server the problem will still happen in the start and games will be ruined and retards will get banned.

There can still be a host option for teamkill. I'd like to have me some added difficulty in a LAN game.
