An idea sprung to mind when I was cleaning a shelf. There was LOADS of layers of Dust that looked thick enough to have a spider hiding in there :D
So, my idea is that that the small Kharaa (Skulk, Lerk, and the Gorge) can hide in the infestation and could jump out at the marines.
This will probably be used often by the Gorge so he can hide in the infestation and wait until the marines are either dead or away from him.

Interesting idea. I think the prototype Dynamic Infestation texture is out of date, as it no longer resembles the alien skin texture in NS2, reducing the effectiveness of DI on helping aliens camouflage.
Invisibility/cloaking was planned to be an upgrade for the aliens, which would be somewhat redundant if DI camouflage is implemented. IMO, your idea is cooler than simple cloaking.
Seriously, if the DI ends up looking like it did in the first tech demo we saw (thick terrain), that would be pretty badass.
Maybe that when you place a tower it will increase the hieght of all the infestation x2 (Around skulks height)
So when this tower is placed it allows areas of infestation to have more HP and also gain the skulks and other things to have the ability to hide in the infestation.
It would be very cool if they could do this so you cannot tell the difference between the skulks hiding and the infestation.
The Kharra would be able to “dissolve†into the infestation to hide and reform themselves at will.
The basis for this was the kharaa are not actually multi-cellular organisms but made up of bacterium, thus they should be able to disassociate and re-associate into their individual cells.
Either way, no matter how it looks, I still support the idea.

Or instead of slowing down the Marines movement maybe it should preven them from Sprinting.
