<div class="IPBDescription">Workaround I used so friends could see screens in gallery.</div>I posted this in general originally; maybe this is a better place for it.

If any of you have tried using the screenshot feature Steam just implemented (non-beta, now) and find that you can't share your NS2 photos -- you can try what I did. I hope I'm not the only one with this issue. I've followed it on the Steam forums and it looks like there are other games that have the same issue (or have issues with taking blackscreen images).

I edited local files of screenshots I took in Half-Life before uploading them to Cloud. It was extremely tedious (I did thumbnails, too, haha) but I wanted anyone viewing my Steam gallery to see them. I did it to generate interest for any friends who happen to casually view my gallery. Unfortunately, the blotter will only show these as Half-Life screens being added to my gallery, but I at least got the images and thumbnails to display.
The screenshot appears as 800x600 until you click full view, which then will go to 1680x1050 -- the resolution I was at.
edit: It would be really nice if Steam did something to allow public shots of games in beta (or those that don't have store/forum pages). With this new screenshot feature and with the people that look through galleries, I could see it getting NS2 more attention if it were able to be distinguished in the gallery.
I have added requests to friends to join the official NS2 group as well -- I'm sure most ignore, but I have had over 10 join. Any attention the game gets will be helpful. It's cheap marketing.

steam://rungameid/4920 - this tells steam.exe you'd like to launch the game, and if you make a folder with that id in your steam screenshots directory, the cloud should be able to properly identify it.
I did that with screenshots of TF2 taken before the overlay function was introduced, and it worked wonders.

I'm not sure what you expect this to do; maybe I'm confused as to what you are trying to tell me. I am confused when you tell me to add NS2's app. id. to the screenshot library/manager.
Currently, my screenshot library does have a game listing for Natural Selection 2 and it works with Cloud. Unfortunately I can not make the screenshots in this game library viewable under public or friends. They can only be viewed privately. The screenshots are in the Steam userdata folder (within other subfolders) that lead to the App. Id. folder 4920 -- I'm sure this is how Steam identifies that they are associated with NS2, like you hinted at. Is there some other screenshots folder you are referring to?
I just did a fresh install of NS2 on another computer, so I don't think it's any local filing issues on the system. I think Steam just doesn't allow NS2 screens to be posted public as of yet. I don't understand why it would do this, since it is already stored in Cloud. It probably has to do with being unable to properly configure the gallery of a game that hasn't fully integrated with Steam yet (ie, no store, forum page, etc -- the gallery page would contain links to these as well as other options).
Thanks for trying to help, though.
