<div class="IPBDescription">NS2 should work with TF2 for hats!</div>I was wondering, Since NS2 is being hosted on Steam have or would any of the NS2 team considered doing a cross over with TF2 I myself being a TF2 junkie and an NS1 junkie would love nothing more then to get a NS2 Gorge Hat or Marine Helmet. What do you think?

I think we can unanimously agree this is a horrible idea and should immediately be buried and purged from our minds. /thread

@Zuriki: Why? It isn't going to affect NS2... except positively, with more direct sales and exposure leading to sales. It's purely a cosmetic addition to TF2 - of which there are already many for TF2. Chances are the TF2 crowd make up a good part of the potential audience for NS2. Some people, in the business of collecting hats, may purchase NS2 simply for the hat alone.

Although funny hats are a selling point in Team Fortress 2, they do not fit in to the atmosphere of Natural Selection. TF2’s cartoon style makes it a casual and laid back game. Hats simply fit into the game.

NS2’s mood is more serious and putting silly hats on an alien has no place in this game. Seeing an onos run down the halls in a pirate hat and an eye patch only seems funny because it looks ridiculous but it ets old. No one would think twice if they saw a TF2 player wearing that.

In the short term, hats may attract some TF2 players, but in the long run, hats make NS2 seem inconsistent and has no place in the game.

The idea is not to add hats to NS2, it's to add NS2 hats to TF2.

Yup, you've already missed the boat.

I never understood the desire for hats in TF2, but if they get even a small fraction of TF2 players to buy NS2, then I'm all for it.

    ...with a purchase of NS2.

They have a whole number of cross-over promotions like this. Alien Swarm, and Worms Reloaded come to mind.
