How about letting umbra to put out fire?

Basically when the alien commander use mature crages to discharge umbra, it would put out all the burning objects around it, both creatures and structures. Things can still be lit on fire after the initial discharge, but with a considerable shorter burning duration.
This is needed cause while alien creatures on fire can run back to the hive or crag to tough it out, structures like hydras usually burn down easily, even when it's in the vicinity of a crage. This will allow alien commander to engage more in directly supporting his team. Since umbra runs on the crage's energy, and the fact it requires a somewhat expensive fully matured crage. It can't be spammed to render flame thrower completely ineffective either.

I used to think allowing Crag heal wave to put out fire was okay, but now that I think about it, it's just too easy to put out fires that way (and it'll put Gorges out of potential firefighter jobs :<)

Seriously, what do you mean? Maybe lerks?
By the way, the Gore is able to put the fire out with its healspray.
