<div class="IPBDescription">support the game</div>The more people idle it the better. Its about at 100 right now. If it gets in the 120s the it will be in the top 10 on gamesurge. If you dont know what irc is just go to www.gamesurge.com/chat
Enter a name and login when it loads type /join #naturalselection
Just keep the website open and never turn your pc off. This will really help get the name out if it gets in the 150s.
CS and cod are around 150 - 200 ns sits around 100-110.
If it gets in the top 10 that will really really help. Tell your friends to idle too.

Once there just put in your user name and enter chat.
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat.
It's prime difference between other modes of chat is that servers themselves host the chatrooms, and that those chatrooms can exist regardless of the amount of people in them. A lot of people like to use it due to the fact that there are a lot of administrative options available to users who create these chatrooms.
In this case, #naturalselection is a chat room located at irc.gamesurge.net, which is the host.
Normally, you'd require an irc client program to utilize it. Mibbit is your exception, and if you don't feel like downloading anything feel free to use that.
[edit]
Also I think I broke it as it doesn't join anymore, well it joins #naturalselection, but not the one I want to join... Ima all alone T_T
/join #channelname
It'll appear as a tab for each
The problem is right now NS1 doesn't have a massive playing community and NS2 isn't capable of holding a playing community. Once the game is optimised, this will change and then there'll be something for people to randomly drop in and will mean there is more to talk about.

its not #ns
IT is #naturalselection
this has about 100 people in solid but i needs to get to 150. I think this is mean but I question people that dont have a past in competitive gaming. irc is the best chat system for every game community. This i why some of the best gamers in the world hang out on it. If you get thos guy to play this game it will spread like wild fire.
I know a few casual players in various communities that have better aim and gameplay understanding than competitive players do. I wouldn't tar either side with either brush, people are just different, some get it, some don't ;)
I never had much use of IRC when I was younger -- been somewhere between 10-15 years...time flies :( -- but you'd be surprised on some of the things you'll find on IRC. A great way for people to talk/share about pretty much anything. Try out mIRC, that's what I used. I'm not sure if other clients are easier to use or not...

Anyone still use ICQ? I stopped using that about the same time I stopped using IRC. User numbers were much fewer digits than they are now I think :P. These days I don't think I'd have much use for internet chat programs either... *shrugs*. I guess the only reason I needed them was to be able to find people to play multiplayer games with. Now we have game browsers to do all that good stuff for us.
Also, set up a filter to remove any line matching "\<brik.*\.gif.*" unless you really like wrestling.
Oh, and don't say "ciao".

they never talk about ns in #naturalselection anyway, so why bother
join #findnsscrim instead

I'm sure there is a good reason for it
There usually is.

It's not held to all that strictly.
