I was really exited when the Mortal Kombat: Reborn short movie appeared in the internet. So i hoped that the Legacy series could live up to it. But after the first episode everything was settled: They still can't do a good Mortal Kombat real life thing. Like the two movies the first episode of Legacy focused too much on Sonya and Jax. It makes sense to start with these characters for the overall story but i wished for something new. And - woah - after i saw this freaking ugly Baraka picture in all those blogs I couldn't help myself anymore. I will have a look at the second episode just to blame its lack of being Mortal Kombat.
This is all a prequel thingy to the any of the games it seems. Episode 2 is out and it showed more into how Jax and Kano get hurt also repaired. For a small Machinima short, they have some good names in the cast list. Wait till you see the doctor.

Definitely not, it's very much an alternate take on the lore. Unless they turn around and undo what they set up in Rebirth, the aim of Legacy is to set up MK sans Outworld which isn't consistent with any of the games. This makes a lot more sense for them to go for in the shorts since the actual MK aesthetic doesn't have the same mainstream appeal and going for it with actors in this day could easily come off as campy.

This.
For any other fighting game, I'd have given up at the cheating ###### Shokan baddies but MK has me hooked. Mostly because it combines the two greatest words in the English dictionary together ("cyborg" and "ninja") but the moves are slick, satisfying and easy to pull off.
Slight beef with the story mode as I'm having to learn a new character every 5 minutes but I see it as introduction to the roster.

Yeah, the challenger tower has that problem too. The higher you go the more difficult the challenges become and you have to learn the in's and out's of that fighter to get by. At least I have too.
It's easy to get in to but feels like it will be hard to master.

The series has been pretty okay so far, I just wish they were longer than 7 minutes every week. The credits are ###### 3 minutes long. Also yes the new MK game ###### owns. Got it for the 360.

The concept short was very slick where as the first episode looked like it was directed by John "SLOW-MO NOW" Woo.
Still hyped for the game reboot next week.
