Graphics issues.

I just bought and installed NS2 yesterday, and I've been experiencing some big graphics issues that I haven't seen anyone else talking about. I can connect to or create games just fine, and I have no problems with the ready room, but once I join a team I start getting major glitches.
Apparently, if I look in the direction of too many objects (players, turrets, Comm chair, alien towers, etc) my graphics turn into a crazy one-point perspective mess. If I'm running around a map by myself, everything looks fine, but as soon as objects come into my field of vision, the graphics wig out. In first-person view, as a marine, this also happens whenever I equip my pistol or knife.
As a Comm, this also happens as soon as I try to place an Armory. I can place multiple turrets or Extractors, but as soon as I click on the Armory icon and scroll my mouse over the map, my graphics turn into a jumble. If I place the Armory down and scroll my camera away, the graphics return to normal as soon as the Armory is out of my field of vision.
I'm running a GeForce GTX 460 SE. These problems happen in any resolution setting (my standard is 1920x1080) and in any detail level.

Clearly he just got here and hasn't been briefed.
You can submit reports at GetSatisfaction for (hopefully) more quicker results. Alternatively, you can press F1 in game.
KuBaN: I've pressed F1 and nothing has happened. I'll check out GetSatisfaction, thanks.
crae: I said it wouldn't let me take screenshots, but If you know what a one-point perspective is, you have an idea of what I'm talking about. The screen turns into a big pattern of blue and grey 2D and 3D triangles with the cross-hair being the vanishing point.

Some of the more useful console commands are:
r_shadows false
r_flash false
r_stats
net_stats
cheats 1 (but only id you start your own local server)
thirdperson 1
r_wireframe
skulk_view false (to stop the camera tilt when climbing on walls)
false or 0 turns things off, true or 1 turns them on
1) Download the very latest Graphics card drivers...even beta ones.
2) Get a can of air, and spray into the GFX card's vents. It could be overheating.
3) If this happens in other games like TF2, your GFX card's RAM is faulty and u have a dud.
4) If it does not happen in other games, GetSatisfaction with log file.
5) ?????
6) Profit.
overheating would more likely cause lots of funky coloured triangles(I know, I used to have a gcard without a fan that overheated), and then weird colours and artifacts even after you exit a game.

doooo no reporting bugs on the forums dont u get it? I hate this community so much.
For the most part I just see it on just the new items that are placed to be built.
