You wouldn't know it by looking at the Moddb page, but this game is scary. Ambient effects. Puzzles, the ability to use stuff around your house...like the phone, sleep, check emails...you also have to use the environment to hide like in Amnesia at times. The soundscape for the game is top notch.
You can find stuff like a shovel and dig up a key that unlocks a room with "bad memories", or you can go to work, your job is...Swat. The game ****ing scared me bad. Dreamland you can access by going to your bedroom and laying down. It's ****ING SCARY. I MEAN LIKE ****ING AMNESIA LEVEL SCARY. Anyone who has played Amnesia understands what a statement that is.
Moments in it at like F.E.A.R, the original, when you go to work...but when you wander the house, it's like Amnesia. It's got multi-dimensional gameplay, you can go advance the story by doing missions as Swat, or just explore your house of "bad memories" and such.
I am sketchy right now. I kid you not, I am looking into the darkness across my room and ****ing paranoid that something is there. I kid you not.
The game is top notch, voice acting, custom replacement models, cutscenes, and just general action.
It's about 3-4 hours long, and JUST THE PROLOGUE, and there's so much to do.
ANY FAN OF HORROR, or action games, or hell, both, should play this. It's a 10/10 from me.

Although i agree, its a very well done, i should probably re-download it so i can try out the nightmare sequences.
No idea how you got that idea. I thought it was incredibly detailed...
Did you skip The House like everyone did? It's also made by a Single guy...and he's not a coder, so he's using SMOD as a base. I think what he's doing is remarkable, it was a really fun SP, the story setup so far is very interesting, and the voice acting really wasn't bad. The game was genuinely scary at parts in The House, too. The problem is most people skipped that entirely...even though you're told to explore it at the start.
The guy wrote a 600 page novel as a base for this games story...it's just the Prologue to introduce you really. He spends an insane amount of love on the mod, I think that's disrespectful in the way you said it, he hasn't stopped working with the SDK release, his owns in the editor far surpass most modders, probably due to him making it alone. He's a little over 3700 hours now...considering he was at like 2000 when this all started, the mod was released last month, he's spent over 1700 hours on it since then...I'd call that "real love" and dedication. He has no modelers, no animators, no coder, no nothing, he's doing it pretty much as a solo project...I'd say that's really impressive.
