<div class="IPBDescription">Things that you've found on the map that the devs need to know</div>Similar to the thread on Tram, issues I found on the map.
<b>General issues:</b>
<ul><li> Sometime the DI infests UNDER a grate, so you don't know it is infesting, or it's SoF doesn't work as well. This is true for both maps.</li><li> Cannot shoot through railings, and hydras/sentries/alien SoF will not register anything behind them.</li></ul>
<b>Map Specific:</b>
<ul><li>Anything behind this railing is protected by it, making it a somewhat exploitable spot for crags and marines to hide, fire, then duck.

</li><li>Area in front of pipe is slightly exploitable in the fact a marine can crouch there and, due to the melee range of aliens, is very difficult to kill.

</li><li>Fell behind this barrel, can't get out.

It's just so crowded at the moment.
However, I wouldn't hold out for UWE to 'fix' rockdown. They've very clearly stated that rockdown is a test map that won't be released with NS2 v1, so don't expect much more time and effort to be spent on it. I figure they'll be working mostly on tram, mineshaft, and whatever other maps they intend to release with NS2 v1.
Moving the extractor is a good idea i think, should not be to hard either as you can extrude a rectangle on the floor, move the extractor there, while on the other floor you just un-extrude the hole you now have.
The mapping guidelines or gorge model should be changed, if the gorge does not fit in the guidelines for vents and nooks. Changing the gorge model would fix issues in rockdown, changing guidelines should fix problems in the future. I dont think its worth actually resizing the vents though.
The railing props should have a "fixed" collision geometry, so that traces can go trough them.
Other than that, highlighting issues should also serve as something mappers can learn from. As is often said, you can learn from your mistakes.
Still, I think that those maps have way less issues than many finished maps, like I actually suceeded at getting stuck in the very first area of the very first map in hl2 ep2 (the one where your train crashes, you exit it, and find a grav gun). They are simply well-made ;)
