I see you guys have started the ESC for ghost buildings and hives. You should extend this to every single menu in the game - even the comm chair. ESC should be the universal "Holy Crap! I need to fight now!" button. Not just for certain menus, for ALL menus.

I'd rather see all movement keys escape the menus as well (movement and jump/crouch buttons)

I personally thought "X" was the close-menu button after seeing the buy-menu at the Armory, and come to think of it I think that would be the ideal button for me at least for.
Escape is a bit hard to use in comparison to the letter-keys. Buut I think it's already used for voice-commands.

While we're at it... Can we have Esc closing the game menu & console too?

Accidentally hitting tilde, then hitting escape out of instinct leaves you in double-lockdown mode, where you need to click the Return button to close the game menu, and then tilde to close the console.
