Here's my observations and ideas as of bulid 176.

<ul><li>Aliens should not be able to heal on Infestation - Only near Hives and Crags.</li><li>Fades should not be able to Blink AT ALL when on fire.</li><li>Infestation should fade away the moment it's disconnected from the Hive - Or at least faster than now.</li></ul><ul><li>Marines should have a "Welder" - Available at start from Armory. Each Marine would have to choose between Welder and Switch-Ax.</li><li>Power Nodes should only be repairable by MACs and "Welders" - Not by hand.</li><li>"Welders" would also be used to remove Infestation and for repairing Marine Structures - Uneffective against Alien Structures.</li><li>Flamethrowers shoud be more effective against Infestation - And almost useless against Alien Structures. Not Aliens tho.</li><li>Currently equipped weapons should not be clickable in Armory.</li></ul><ul><li>Admin-commands would be nice - Kick, Ban, Whitelist etc.</li><li>High-ping-kicking - A single player with a high ping destroys the whole game.</li><li>A disconnect-button in the menu.</li><li>More info in the Serverlist - Longer servername, a "description-line", location, max ping (for auto-kicking purposes). All these would be specified in server.xml.</li></ul>

    I agree with this to a degree.

    Infestation should heal, just slower. It is one of the bonuses to encourage infestation spread that needs to be kept, but toned down a little.

    If we're going to have welders available from the start like you suggest, then I'd prefer that they are also required for building. It's only fair.

    Otherwise, repairing and building can remain "by hand", but have a "welder" animation. Marines must necessarily only be able to repair power points and probably nothing else, since they will be using the USE key.

    I'd be okay with Welder as an early game choice to replace the Pistol, as Switch-Axe doesn't nearly compare with a Welder's usefulness.

    Marines who want full combat potential for long range equip Pistol, while Marines who want to aid in repairing player/structure armor, power nodes and speed up construction equip Welder.

    Everything involving machines/electronics should not be able to be build/repaired by hand. It wouldn't make any sense.

    It's justified in-universe with nanites. More specifically, the marine presence (sticking his hand into the building, generally) gives the nanites the needed boost to defeat the alien bacterium, and so construct the building.

    Wow, it sounds like you're a little biased towards Marines. That aside, without any sort of justification for these suggestions, I find it difficult to respond with anything other than:

    Why?

    <ul><li>The regeneration rate from standing on Infestation is currently so small as to be negligible, so this sort of change seems pointless to even mention.</li><li>Being on fire prevents you from regenerating adrenaline. After 1 or 2 blinks you are going to be unable to continue blinking, so why bother imposing some arbitrary restriction on ONE ability? Unless being on fire prevented you from using all abilities (which would stop games) I only see this confusing players.</li><li>Can we please keep the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=112996" target="_blank">Welders</a> discussion to one thread?</li><li>Infestation is getting an overhaul (pustules), so any opinions about it and any related subjects (Flamethrowers) are likely to change in the next few weeks.</li></ul>
