I rented a dedicated server since monday.

I'm hosting a free murmur server on it (you'll need mumble client to join)

    With FR in the name you'll properly only see French people on it.
    I always steer clear of servers which contain FR / DE / IT / whatever country speaks anything other then English and Scandinavian xD
    Nothing more annoying then a server where 90% won't speak english.
    But that might be what you're looking for? ;)

    That'll probably be a good setup once NS2 is optimized, but I wouldn't expect miracles from it right now. As far as I can tell, the key to having good performance with the current beta is high single core speed (3GHz+) and lots of ram (4GB is ok, 8GB is better, 12GB would probably be best). I haven't played on your server yet, but I would expect it to start tanking into a single digit server rate at 10 players, tons of DI or hydra spam.

    I suspect that is close to where NS2 will end up, but as far as I can tell right now, server-side NS2 beta eats CPU and RAM for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maybe some of the other current server owner/operators could chime in on their server specs/CPU-RAM consumption?

    Performance usually degrades over time due to things such as memory leaks or bugs. Wait till you get several 'phantom' clients or after several matches that include a lot of structure/hydra/DI spam.

    Yep you're right, after few rounds ram up to 1,5go used.

    CPU still around 25-30%

    But I always to restart the serv before it uses ram/cpu (ghosts issue)

    Sounds like UWE has done a lot to solve the CPU usage issue. I know other server owners have reported 100% (or close to 100% CPU usage) on previous builds. If you're reseting the server on a regular basis (such as a day), then you'll probably be fine.

    There is no reason to avoid that servers atm.
    Okay on a german server I chat in german, but if it comes to orders or informations for the team we all speak english.
    I guess as long as the game is in beta the main language is english, even on FR /DE / IT / Esperanto servers.

    Title says "ns2 ds server". I assume ds does not stand for dedicated server in this case, as that would make the title "ns2 dedicated server^2".
    So therefor I assume you actually made a nintendo ds server for ns2.

    Thats about right. It will max out core 1 to near 100% but next to nothing on the other 3 cores. Memory usage will go up to around 1.7GB when you have 10-14 players online.
