    So this has branched into...

    a) Is the pistol too weak/powerful.
    b) Is weapon swicthing too slow.
    c) Should there be a lastinv key.

    and these are my thoughts.
    a) The pistol is a decent weapon, fires slow enough, higher damage than the machine gun.
    b) Debatable ... I could argue it is a bit too slow currently, but I don't want it the Q3 level weapon switching speed.
Like someone else said having a thought before switching weapons proves interesting playing both sides.
    c) I HOPE they implement this functionality, i use it in every FPS that provides it.

    Lastinv can't be excluded.

Pistol is the most skill based weapon for marines.
Weapon switching could be a bit faster. (It's decent as it is.) I use pistol as primary when I got an lmg. The sounds I can hear are indication of what weapon I need to use. It's all in the wrist!

A blinking fade is very hard to own when he's escaping with low health because of the slow switching. It was always epic to slay a fade with the one last bullit you aimed at it.

Whatever the pistol was meant to do, it is functionally not a secondary, backup weapon, it is your primary weapon at longer ranges and the LMG/shotgun/flame thrower is your primary weapon at close range.

Mostly it's interesting because it also increases damage from 20 to 30, though I don't think anyone would ever notice this in-game.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yep. But I think maximum rate of fire is halved as well. But the extra rate of fire could just be detrimental, really.
