It's pro cuz when you join the game there's a button - and with one click of button game updates itself!!!
Or does it? Not for me. From my experience gameclient patching is bad (that's why mmorpgs and blizz games have Launcher.exe)

So my idea is
Replace the upgrade button (click here to upgrade ns2) with a direct link to steampowered.com/ns2update so there's a direct download and traditional update running.

reverse-negative things
No loading the ns2 site for the update
No gameclient patching

good things
none

bad things
well it's kinda old fashioned
no awesome one-button-click patching

ps. my dad looked kinda like billy mais -ironically they both died at the same year.

Wtf? What button? Do we need buttins when it's auto by Steam.
NS2 has a Launcher but it's not called Launcher.
