Gorge hydra placement ideas/bilebomb adjustments

Since we all want to see hydras on walls and ceilings, I've made up an idea.

At the same tier as bilebomb, the gorge can get the ranged puke ability (name pending ;) )
This attack shoots a large blob that sticks to any surface and transforms into a hydra. So now we can get hydra's on every surface with infestation.
Next thing we want is to be able to infest walls and ceilings from range (I know i'm interfering with the pustules-mechanics now). This would need the following adjustment to bilebomb:

Bilebomb creates infestation when it hits the ground (similur to the gorge-infestation now, only ranged.)
+ it also needs to do dmg to marine armor and all robots, buth that's another story.

Those ideas combined let the gorge place hydras all around the hive room later in game (it's a tech2 weapon) and be able to spash some infestation on walls and ceilings do deploy hydras there.

One last comment: healing hydras that are far away isn't possible, they will just have to regen health by the infestation they(re on (wich can be dropped with bilebomb over and over). No continues healing means they die quicker during an assault, but since theyre placed on weird placed like ceilings the marines can easlier be attacked by aliens when they are trying to kill something on the ceiling.

it is my understanding that infestation in the future will climb the walls and ceilings by itself.
maybe make pustules, or mini-pustules wall/ceiling mountable.

a ranged hydra-placer is interesting, but it might be too hard for the intended counter, the flamer, to reach.

Ranged hydra placement could be secondary fire for hydra, and pustule placing with bilebomb could be bilebomb's secondary fire.

I really love this idea of being able to hang hydras off hard to reach places, would make them far more effective, it would make the game far more creepy and immersive that's for sure.

I like this, though you'd be unable to heal ceiling hydras.. so perhaps packaged with the ranged hydra upgrade is a slower RoF healspray that fires like spit but on contact bursts into a heal spray.

Edit: Though perhaps the lowered RoF isn't enough since suddenly you can heal/damage things a fair distance away and in some cases this might be a bit unfair, so perhaps the gorge choosing that upgrade would lose self heal or the ability to damage with it or both. Thoughts?

The convenience of being on the roof compensates for not being easy to reach with healing?

Alien comm drops DI on marine start ceiling, gorges rush in and spit several hydras on it, hilarity ensues.

Eh, if that's all then I'd just end up keeping them within spray range.. not really quite worth it in most cases, Crags could do the trick I suppose unless you end up putting them on a ceiling too high for them to even reach.. though this isn't generally too common.

Either way.. I like to make sure my 10 pres investments are sticking around as long as possible and clever placement will only give so much edge without some sort of support, in my opinion anyways.

Bear in mind if they're on the roof they are much harder to kill with shotguns and grenades, and possibly even with flamethrowers. Not to mention making it impossible for marines to pay attention to you while trying to kill them.

True, it may not need the support in that case, definitely would love to test this.

    some ideas I've liked.

1.bile bomb spreads infestation through splash effect (current splash isn't as big as ns1 was)
2.bile bomb damage marines armor, but does no damage to the marines health
    3. bile bomb will be damaging buildings normally as it always did

the problem with gorge shooting hydras on ceiling, with current more infestation spread it only spreads on ground level.
IF infestation actually starts to crawl throughout the whole room (as it should), this idea would be good. I just don't see bile bomb reaching that high though with current range limit and arc it has.
infestation itself needs to spread rapidly throughout the whole place.

aside from that, I think its great idea. it should help the gorge protect his chambers, and later against jetpackers.
