What can I say? It's the most fun I've had with a MP game in a long time. The constant updating has kept it rather fresh and since I've been playing since the beta it has all come gradual for me.

F.A.N is pretty awesome especially for knocking back pyro's or claymore wielding demo men.
It's especially awesome on CTF Doublecross. Even a mildly-competent Scout can doublejump from the sniper deck to the middle bridge with a downward FAN shot to boost themself, run across and double/fan to the enemy sniper deck, head to the left and into the intel room from the back, back out the way you came in (doublejump/FAN to get over the pit) then out from the enemy sniper deck again... all in a shorter space of time than it takes to set up a sentry. Usually good for at least one early-game cap, sometimes two if they don't react fast enough.
Still waiting to get an Atomizer to increase the abusiveness.
I don't enjoy the pub TF2 too much, not at least the customized rapid spawn 32 player massacres. Any recommendations on smaller vanilla servers or pick up/gather systems for an old European FPS veteran?
Basically I could enjoy occassional relaxed rounds where you can still have a bit more control and communication than on a total public chaos.
I don't think the Tomislav is useless now though. Worse than before obviously, but before it was simply too good. The spin-up reduction is still noticeable, and the lack of a spin-up sound is also nice.

Use these filters to start with (check tags on far right of server browser) Do not include: norespawntimes, respawntimes, arena, bots, idle, fastspawn, lowgravity, saigns (saigns servers are all untagged fastspawn with donation cheats on them). Other generally good filters are <100 ping, no passworded servers and allow full servers (I often get lucky clicking them instead of refreshing the entire list all the time).
Then be wary to blacklist servers that have faked player numbers (says full in browser, while it can be empty. Rightclick > view server info to check) or a cluster of servers that all redirect you to the same server.
Does Doomy's have games going again/still? I used to play there so. Very. Much. I have Dirk Gently to thank for both my searing hatred of spies and my ability to hunt them down and make life terrible for them. He was good, and that was before spies got all sorts of overpowered ######. I also ended up playing a lot of L4D (1 & 2) with people I'd met there. Good crowd.
I haven't seen Doomys up for a long while, I just remember it being a decent server with some mic talk that wasn't horribly annoying quotes from facebook updates. I still have it as favorite though ;(
Yeah, Doomy's kind of died at some point. All the regulars (including me at the time) simply stopped playing, and the server went from "impossible to get in" to empty at primetime. It had a brief revival like half a year later, but it kind of wasn't the same and it quickly died out again. I've rarely played on a server that was this active on the mic, or had this many competent players. Not even necessarily super-skilled or anything, just not horribly incompetent. Nowadays if I'm a medic, I'll have an übercharge ready and grab a heavy and tell him to just charge in - heavies have so much health that you can get away with not popping the übercharge straight away - and it's about 50/50 whether he'll do so on my word alone or whether I have to activate the übercharge before he will move at all, and when he finally gets his ass in gear it's another 50/50 whether he'll actually try to push back the enemy or whether he'll just spin up at first sight of an enemy and then slowly inch forward even though everyone is outside effective range and he's accomplishing nothing. On Doomy's I used to announce that I had an übercharge ready over the mic, because someone always had a plan for it and we could quickly get some impromptu teamwork going that way. It wasn't unusual to have another medic pipe in with "wait a second, I've almost gone one as well" and voila now we've got a double über going.

New soldier weps are broken.
The mutilator has no random crits but the charge is like a crit when ever you want it. Also I think the AoE is greater than any wep other than the sticky bomb.
The bison doesn't seem op at first, but once you realize how easy it is to hit things with it you learn to appreciate as being an even more solid secondary than the shotgun. Also it is literally broken in that if you fire it at someone who is moving away from your shot it can hit 2 or three times on the same person.
I'll be very surprised if this stuff isn't nerfed before the weekend. Damage reduction to 70% at least if not AoE reduction.

This.
I'm only out of a multiplay server and there was a brave few on either side and it was pretty chaotic with one hit kills everywhere and if you didn't die in one shot you where thrown into the air and died from fall damage, infuriating.
Also does the bison have splash damage as well ? since it very much seemed so and I was getting killed around corners on occation.
Lastly its pretty much rendered the turrets useless since a fully charged mutilator shot can pretty much take it out.
Walls? I sure hope not. I've heard it penetrates spawn gates though. Jesus Christ Valve it's not as if this hasn't happened before, could you please test any of the stuff you make? Ever?
Hell, if it was only hatfortress. Let 'em add a thousand hats, who gives a ######. It's when they add weapons that have barely been tested that things go to ###### and the entire game becomes a joke.

I was playing a LOT of TF2 back when it first came out. I have a total of 14.3 hrs played.
That is like 1/4 of what you did in the past 2 weeks.

Those really were the times.
I was having technical issues for a while, and then the server I was a reg on kinda went poof in terms of people playing, and I CBA to find a new one.
