    Removing the ladder in Pipe Junction would actually weaken the new route into crossroads a little, although that's not the main issue by far.

    After checking that route again and shooting the hive with grenade launcher I'd say the grenade launcher has an overpowered range and will cause issues in other maps aswell.
    With the ns1 grenade launcher you wouldn't be able to directly hit the hive, because you can't aim that high in that position to gain perfect shooting angle.
    I'd say a vent and maybe a passage under the platform between the rocks might already be enough, until there are more additions and tweaks to the gameplay.
    Plus moving the door farther away from crossroads or removing it until door mechanics are more in place!?

    Regarding the hive strategy:
    One goal of the layout is to give each team multiple, possible expansion locations, but with slight differences depending on the location (for aliens: SA defensive strat, Heliport offensive strat).
    Considering that marines currently don't have to expand and that aliens have no means to teleport between hives so far, I'm not sure how much change that might be needed now won't be necessary later on.

    Possible gameplay and balance changes in the next patch might also help aliens to have a slightly better position in the game, so adding these map changes aswell might completely shift the balance in the other direction.

    There needs to be more going on in heli for aliens. At the moment it is too clean and easy for Marines.
