Hey all,

Finally decided to buy NS2 a few weeks back, been keeping an eye on it for about a year now (with a little help from NS2HD) and I have to say i'm loving the BETA. Obviously doesn't feel quite finished yet but you can tell that everything is coming together great. Played the first Natural Selection to death when it came out 10 years ago and it was that that got me into PC multiplayer games back when I was 14-15. It's about time the unknown worlds guys made a 2nd, because this has the potential to be up there with the top multiplayer games on PC.

Aaaanyways, just wondering if there is any way to enable SLi in NS2. I know that it doesn't support it, but was wondering if there was a way around it at all. The reason I ask is because I had the same problem in the Witcher 2, didn't support SLi but I managed to find a tweak that allowed it. Could be a newb question but hey, been struggling to run it on max settings and thought I would ask, would make the game a hell of allot more enjoyable as I get around 10fps around alot of structures etc.

Keep up the great work Unknown Worlds, hope for an official release soon.

Thanks in advance.

Which is your CPU? The CPU is way more of a bottleneck for NS2 than the GPU so i doubt that sli could help you even if it did work. I'm using a Radeon HD 5870 - just like NS2HD, but unlike him i have an old Athlon Processor (6000+, dual core) and i too get very low frame rates when there is much stuff going on (especially in late game or when the marine base is full of buildings). Afaik NS2HD uses a way stronger CPU and as you can see in his videos he barely has any problems with lag or slow framerate.

    Tl;Dr: get a new CPU.

Also check this, just in case: <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=113839" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....howtopic=113839</a>

Yep like zeno said, right now NS2 is way more CPU heavy than it is for GPU. If you have a nice processor (better than dual core 3.0ghz) you'll notice that the game will run a looottt better.

So SLI wouldn't really matter a whole lot right now, with where NS2 is at right now.

My processor is an intel quad core q6600 @ 2.40ghz overclocked to 3.2ghz. Dont have a problem running any other game, just NS2.

Looking to upgrade at the end of the year anyways, cheers for the replys.

The game will run a LOT better on everyone's computers once the game is feature complete (at least for v1.0) and it exits the beta period. The big performance optimizations will come in the lead up to the big v1.0 release on the steam store. Hopefully you won't need SLI to run the game well after that. As far as I know NS2 doesn't support SLI yet.
