Windows Gamma Messup

<div class="IPBDescription">BAH!</div> Hey, I was playing NS today, and for some reason it crashed. Well, whatever. I had to use Task Manager to exit HL, and when I got back into windows, it was <b>MEGA-BRIGHT.</b> It's the same effect as when you fool with those color-bars in video card option windows (of course, I don't have such an option).

Another weird thing is that in HL, my brightness is fine (or at least I think). The game shell is over-bright but not the actual game itself.

Here's a screenshot... any way I can fix this? Doesn't have to be NS related, just a way that I can fix my Windows. Because it's really hard to see anything!

BTW: if the picture comes out looking like it's normal, pretend it was really bright, and there you go.

i have the same thing when ns is launched, the brightness floods the entire desktop, which is a big deal for myself since i only use hl in a window. ns is the only modification doing this, i'm guessing it's the gamma/brightness tweaks...

does anyone know how to fix this?

Run the 'Reset Gamma' utility in the Programs/Natural Selection area of the start menu.
