Can't create a listen server

Right after I start a listen server game the normal booting process (loading map... etc) isn't present in the upper left hand corner, and the screen goes completely black. The problem is present for any map, summit included -- but when I join a server, I can play the map just fine and the loading works properly.
This is a bit annoying, because it means I can't test my custom map in-game. Any ideas?

I don't know of any pattern to black screen bugs, for me they usually happen when the round starts, but in previous version they happened as soon as I joined.
It was working as recently as this morning, so clearly something has changed since then, not sure what though
Did you download 183 this morning?
Otherwise, rebooting might help if you didn't already try it.

Thank you Chris, rebooting worked. Somehow. I didn't reboot first so I can't really complain about a technical issue, but boy that's strange
Thanks again
And the game actually goes completely blackscreen while the server is started (which is normally really fast.) Then the normal loading process starts when your client connects to the listenserver.

Ehh, it wasn't really brilliant, if your computer does something fine in the morning but on the evening it stops, chances are it just needs rebooting.
I just see it as the computer accumulating bad mojo if you leave it running too long, so you have to reboot it to cleanse the evil spirits or something and then it works fine. Makes about as much sense as any other explanation really.
Presumably the server variant of various operating systems has a built in exorcism subroutine and that's what you pay the extra money for.
Glad it fixed it though.

I think you're right. About the voodoo evil spirits

Yeah, Ill keep an eye out incase it happens again, and post the log in that case. Frankly unless you're a custom mapper it's just not too big of a deal
