<div class="IPBDescription">no...not a gun</div>I played now a while marines and i was like "hmm it would be nice to see where im going, not just a text where, just see like in the game portal"
So the idea is could the phase gates be like in portal? so you can see the other side?
To increase the FPS the camera what you see through the phase gate will be -50% of gamespeed (slowmotion)
What i am talking about?
For example, if you use slow motion in alien swar, a new viewport comes and you see yourself in thirdperson on a tiny window.
But your fps increase a lot, because the whole game runs in slow motion.
So i hope and guess, if the phase gate viewport of the destination will be in slow motion to, it could be possible later?

(JUST VISIBLE EFFECT, not a gun or something)
and it could explained why the viewport of the phase gate is in slow motion, because of the technic

You always know if you press Map-Key ^^
They own the fracking place, and the alien stuff is spreading through their station after all.
Why? Purely from a gameplay perspective, stealth is a very important part of any combat. If the enemy always knows where you are, you are at a huge disadvantage. Also marines can be a lot more mobile than Aliens, and pop up at unexpected areas of the map. I love this part of NS2, proves that it's always going to be a dynamic game.
Personally though I preferred the old pad design in NS1; no accidental teleportations. (kind of unrelated.. but damn does it sometimes bug me)
Pfff...if a alien can see through, the marines sucks, because it should be defended :P
Question to you, would you move through a phase gate if you can not see the destination? ^^
I think it would be very helpful.

ANSWER: yes i would. NS has been like that ever since it started and it has never bothered me. Thats where communication plays its role "dont phase, onos on the other side"
...if that happend most time the marines died...because they don't listen to the chat.
It still happend to ns2, yesterday i wrote we got no ip, like 5 times, nobody listen and we lost.
That happend a lot, to aliens too.
If i wrote Phase gate in hive, but nobody listen to the chat.
