Muds on face

hmm I've just uploaded this topic but cannot find it.

Anyway, I think that it would be awesome to see some muds-on-face stuffs just like LFD2. Alien dirty liquids on face and disturbing marines' sight when they shoot at Alien structures closely or just got hit by bilebomb or something that explodes would make game much more intensive.

    Maybe it would enhance intensity, but view obstruction is generally frowned upon by players - for a reason!

    View obstruction already occurs with flame throwers.

    Honestly, I don't see a problem with it as long as its not combined singularly with a powerful weapon as well and so long as its not too obstructive.

    Alien vision cancels out the whole obstruction thing on flames, unless you mean the flame stream from the marine perspective, in which case it's not exactly screen-wide and really doesn't exactly require precision aiming right now.

    This is annoying in L4D1/2 and would be annoying in NS2. So, no.

    The point of it was to blind you, that's why the boomer existed, blind you and then get you swarmed. I saw it as a challenge and a neat effect personally. I don't think because something could possibly be annoying to some people it shouldn't be looked at. Reloading is annoying, dying is annoying, shooting is annoying, not winning every game is annoying. In any case, that's how I see it.

    True, but on the scale of least to most annoying, view obstruction is up there at the top (just see all the discussions of the skulk bite). My biggest issue is that the op hasn't identified a problem that view obstructing mud/bile would solve. If you're going to put in a very annoying game element you better have a fairly good reason for doing so.
