Gorge healing.

In my opinion right now I find gorge healing to be a little overpowered, the fact that a gorge can outheal marine damage at lower levels while healing itself seems somewhat broken and unfair, what I propose is the gorge heal to have 2 uses.
Primary fire = Damage enemies/heal teammates Maybe a SMALL heal to self like 1/4th of what it already is.
Secondary fire = Heal self, no damage to enemies or heals to friendlies.
If you think about it it makes sense, left clicking spits the healing spray out in front of the gorge, how exactly is this jet out in front of him healing himself? Healing teammates, yes, damaging enemies, yes, healing self with enzymes that are being shot out in front of you....no.
This would make it more fair early game so that a gorge can't simply tank marine vanilla damage while killing them like nothing, not looking for a nerf, simply a mechanic change for balance.

What? what good is healing if you CANT use it in combat? :S
Both suggestions allow healing in combat. Play them out in your mind and see.
There are only a few cases where a lone gorge becomes threat to a vanilla marine. Both instances generally occur when the marine tries to chase down the gorge and the gorge lures the marine back to some structures that have already been built:
Case 1) another object is damaging the marine
- In this case a whip or hydra is damaging the marine allowing the gorge focus on healing itself.
Case 2) another object is healing the gorge
- A Craig of a hive is healing the gorge allowing it to focus on damaging the marine.

thats BS because i've been chased down by gorges heal spraying with me shooting him the entire time and he will kill me and get away with next to no damage. with another marine shooting him.
I decided to jump in a LAN game to determine how fast heal spray actually does heal a vanilla gorge and its 19, which i looked into the game's code to find out more. It turns out the heal spray heals a base amount increased by 4 percent of the lifeforms base health which the gorge can use at a delay of .5 seconds. And as far as i can tell it doesn't vary since health upgrades only increases armor, not actual health, which is what the heal spray takes into consideration when calculating how many HP to heal. Compare that with the marine rifle which does 10 damage a bullet, and fires with a delay of .1 seconds and the pistol on alternate firing mode, which does 20 damage a shot, and can shoot at a delay of .2 seconds.
This means in 1 second a gorge would have been able to heal itself for 38 HP, while at the same time the vanilla rifle, without even taking damage upgrades into consideration, would have dealt 100 points of damage if every bullet hit, which sustained for 5 seconds to dump all the vanilla LMG's ammo thats 500 points of damage, to a life form that as vanilla has 150 health and 50 armor, about 250 effect HP. Take that scenario where you don't end up killing the gorge, pull out your pistol on alternate fire and in 1 second would deal 100, with 200 damage to be unloaded in a full clip.
With all this information, the only conclusion i can come to is that:
A- The problem has been a little exaggerated.
B- Most of the bullets you were firing were missing (which is understandable on a laggy server)
C- The gorge was being healed by an external source (IE another gorge, infestation, crag, hive)
D- You were damaged beforehand, allowing the gorge to damage you enough before you can dump enough rounds into him.
E- The server was modified or there is a serious problem in NS2's game code.
I've never seen that. Maybe the marine had alot of lag and the gorge had some spit-hits at long range?
Or the marine was using the touchpad of his laptop instead of the mouse.
I like how it works right now, the gorge can heal just enough to make it easier to reatreat or kill an unskilled and/or damaged marine. Since he's the big juicy target all the marines aim for when you encounter 2 skulks + gorge.
Totally agree.
Bunny Hopping, Heal-Spraying Gorges are very difficult to kill 1v1.
