Anyway, I always got a positive feeling by the devour ability. When you as a marine got devoured, you could only trust your teammates to recover you from a certain doom. I find the same element and feeling when evolving into Fade or Onos to fend off that final marine push that would throw us out of the game. If my teammates could protect (the vulnerable /egg/) me long enough for me to hatch, we might have a chance.
Point being, I find it gives the feel (and fact) of reliance on your teammates - which is a big + for my part!
..that Stomp should be an area type of effect that knocks every rine down for a short time, while they still can shoot (Left 4 dead style maybe) This SWOOSH wave attack from NS1 always was kinda akward.
..that Charge should knock doors open, shut buildings down for a few secs and knocs down rines like stomp?
..that he should feel like a tank and move like one.

Why go to the extra effort of making onos significantly larger than marines(as opposed to ns1) if they arent going to add devour? That was my initial reaction upon seeing how big the onos was in NS2 anyways... that devour was going in for sure :P It also worked as a way to prevent marines from turtling in marine start, because onos could run the big guns away from MS so the rines couldnt recover it.
According to the wiki the Onos will have 1800 armor with armor 3 reasearched. (600 base armor) that is Alot of armor. Then again the skulks armor don't scale correctly with the armor upgrades, the Onos will probably have his armor adjusted for balance aswell.
I hate devour in ns1 it only eats my target 5% of the times when i use it (even when the damn marine was stunned), and it rly pisses me off that every other onos spams it on marines: so 1) i hate it while alien cuz it never works 2)hate it while marine cuz it always works against me

But once you get the hang of it, it becomes very useful in defending a position. (Personally I did not find it very useful for offense).
I remembered you had to aim a bit down of what seemed like the perfect spot to snatch for a marine, usually going for the HA-guys first (more of a threat + felt like they had a bigger hitbox) :P
While beeing eaten, the marines should play a hardcore speed level of tetris, so if they win this, they axe-knife their way out of the stomache of the onos.
I am among the ones who wish to see devour make a return.
I would also like to see a modified version of the onos original charge ability that would knock down all players infront of the onos as he charges by.

Weird I know, but again something about taking away control from players being frowned upon...

Onos should be able to replace his secondary attack with a sandwich that he can sit down and eat to regain full health, but becomes vulnerable for 4 seconds.
also he should be able to swap the sand...wich out for a "chocolate" bar, and be able to toss the sandwich to teammates if he wants. Oh, and give the onos a minigun too.

Devour was an unintuitive weapon to aim. But once you get the hang of it, it becomes very useful in defending a position. (Personally I did not find it very useful for offense).
