<div class="IPBDescription">Because you know you all want one</div>How tough would it be to bind a key (something out of the way, like KP_7) to send an angry comment into alltalk and instantly shut down your game? I can think of lots of NS2 players who would benefit greatly from such an addition, and I've seen a few people on the forums who have indicated their interest as well.

    As long as the button is adjustable, like mouse 3 or something.
    Bad company 2 is the worst, when you die, you have to wait until you respawn to quit the game, and it doesn't even take you to windows! That's another button.

    I rage quit everyday on multiple games across the board, this script would be perfect for somebody like me. Make sure to add like a "rage meter", low means green and red means ENRAGED!

    Most games I leave is due to, not having very much time, so an errand pops up and I leave to attend it, or if I get in a game and I start to play and realize I am so tired and lazy I just leave due to the lack of immersion. Other than that, the only other thing that can cause me to leave in NS2 is, joining a team that is so bad compared to another team, it's hopeless, and I think a vast majority of players here have been in that situation.

    The rage meter could be a GUI representation of your k/d, weighted by your current deaths per second; it could update once every 5 seconds or so, but fake a more frequent update time by using smooth animations for changing "levels". At the really high levels, it would automatically spam the chat with obscenities and claims of bull###### and/or hax.

    This is starting to sound like a real must-have script for the up-and-coming NS2 pubber.

    I just don’t get it. To me rage quitting is more alien than a skulk. There are a lot of reasons to quit in-game that have nothing to do with rage or exasperation over how the game is going. (Insert long list here.) I never rage quit. When I’m in a game on a team that is hopeless I use the situation to experiment, try new things or just go berserk and see how much fun I can have. When cornered a rat is most dangerous. At the present state of NS2 you can’t take anything seriously. This is a game, it is entertainment. It should increase your adrenalin with excitement not anger or frustration. What would you do in a match game? Leave your team a player short just because you’re unhappy?

    exactly, when I play marines its crazy how pissed off people are if they get the crap kicked out of them. I mean the game is still being built just make the best out of it and have fun. And if it's not fun don't play it.

    NS2=Game
    Game=Fun
    Fun=Understanding it's a game...

    Out of all the different problems NS2 has since it's still in BETA, one thing that bothers players the most is when one team rage quits.
    A game that has gone on for an hour or so and is just getting interesting again, then BAM, half your team quits and now your team is doomed, or BAM, the other team only has 2 players left.

    If you think you are going to over react during the game and rage quit, don't even play at all. It's not fair to those who want to play, try hard, have fun, or experiment. Now, this doesn't mean that we can't take the game seriously and play to win, I for one play very seriously but if it comes down to my team being demolished, I just start having fun and doing weird stuff.

    Most of all, rage quitting and complaining at this stage of the beta gives a horrible rep for NS2 when new players are in the server. I played with many new players last night and it was awesome to see the compliments they were giving the game.

    I would understand if people are wanting a quick quit button for emergencies or are just wanting to leave without going through console or menu.

    Just some thoughts.

    I support only if the ragequit function is permanently bound to mouse1.

    Bind r "say Wtf f.... S.... Of c...... Dam cheaters" ; quit (additional: format c: y)

    Or add it to the lua script where it sits.
