Welding doors, power off - redlights, turrets, crusher (like onos), powerloader (exo?)...
Pretty funny to see some similaritys with ns2.
(now i want weather effects in ns2, and better particles, smoke fire etc. - even tho they are not that much better in a:cm)

<i>"gets stomped by a drone"
"That what we call a close encounter..."</i>
He sounds like Ben Stein!
Also showing it with console powered aiming, ugh... Let's hope them aliens move a bit faster on PC (unlikely), then shown in this vid >_>
Other then those small issues with the vid, it looks damn awesome if ya ask me... Nostalgia feel is there indeed :P

Hes just trying to sound slick, like the narrator from bastion :D
damn teasing
cant wait for a pc gameplay video.

Yeah. Everyone copies this really small relatively unknown indie companys ideas, including those they haven't actually exposed yet.
Chill, he said it had similarities not ripped off.
I can honestly say that the blood and gore in AvP classic is better than in that video though. I'm a bit disappoint.

The movie Alien (and Aliens) are the roots.
Same could be said for NS as well :P
Warhammer 40k -> Starcraft 2
Dawn of war ----------^
Well that was easy.
Alien->Aliens->Everything else
Alien->Aliens->Everything else<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Don't ya mean
Aliens->Alien->Everything else
Using steps of awesomeness instead of the usual boring logic of the flow of time, time is relative anyways :P
Aliens >> Alien for sure
I like to pretend all the subsequent movies never happened as well
With that said, I hope this game brings at least something new to the table, but Im not too optimistic.
I suppose if I can play as a facehugger and jump onto unsuspecting players that will warrant at least some play time.
drooool...

The director's cut (or extended edition or whatever the official name of it is) of Alien 3 is actually pretty good. The film just isn't what people were expecting since they started marketing the film before the script was even finalised, which is something even I, a not-hollywood-marketing-guy, know is a really stupid idea.
Backwards MW2 style Folding iron sights and a static bolt on a pulse rifle... seriously gearbox?
Aside from that I'm still cautiously optimistic and love how theres no clunky hud to spoil the immersion.
I love everything and anything Alien(s)
I have conflicting emotions about this game because:
a. I love alien(s)
b. The game isn't really Alien(s)
c. Tank alien? Really? Regular aliens aren't scary enough? WTF guys. And what creature exactly did the facehugger grab on that completely desolate planet to make a tank alien? Eh? One of those dead space jockeys? :(
d. Aliens don't move fast enough/don't pop easy enough to bullets. Their strength is in the sneak.
e. Scripted events, so many scripted events.
f. Marine heroically melees a horrifying alien and doesn't get an acid blood on him at all, not even a voice file playing saying "Oh, there is alien acid on me, that is a bad thing." no attention to it at all. FOO!
g. Needs less COD
The "tank alien" has been part of the Alien toy line for years now, known as a "Bull" / "Rhino" alien.

They <a href="http://www.toyarchive.com/Aliens/Toys/AliensFigures.html" target="_blank">had quite a few ridiculous alien designs for the Kenner toy range</a>, I hope they don't use all of them because some of them are just stupid ("Arachnid Alien"? The main aliens do that well enough by themselves).
Just goes to show how psyched I am about this game...and the 'Alien' universe in general.
Do you really believe that? :/
How can you run something into the ground if it never even flew in the first place? All Gearbox did was take the half-formed abortion that was never going to get released and string its disparate pieces together enough to make it a game, which is more than the original company could have ever claimed to do, despite having 10 years to do so :p
If you're going to blame anyone for running Duke into the ground I think you should look at 3D realms.
I'm trying to get my head around a half-formed abortion. Although I really can't.
I'm crying. Thanks.
Take an abortion, run it through a blender slowly for about 10 seconds.
Voila, half formed abortion.

It wouldn't be a very fun game if you just fought basic aliens with a pulse rifle and they all one shotted you if they got more than 3 feet from you.
Film != game.
Well, actually no, I'd be playing half life, because that has things like enemy variation and more than one gun. Good things. Which make it a good game.
What retard made a Vasquez action figure and didn't even give her the SmartGun? What the hell is that, a backpack missile launcher? Is she walking artillery now? A BM-21, that's exactly what they needed inside LV-426.
