Instead of the indicators on medpacks when you are low on health

make the med kit model glow around the area where you can see it's injection contents through the glass.

The primary reason why you cannot spot medpacks is not because they are hard to see but because it is very dark and your flashlight can only reveal so much.

Glow is better than a ton of red cross icons in the way IMO.

I agree with this. Give them a small red cross led light on the model which glows so it is easy to see them. It just has to be enough to stand out from the dark surroundings.

    +1

I would've preferred this. Cory apparently sent the link to Max, but I guess he thought the current implementation was a better idea.

I think having a L4D style glowing outline is the best way to highlight items.

Having a glowing red cross on the medpack would really be neato, but you would still need some indicator for dropped weapons since they wont glow.

+1 for the 'cross' to glow, you dont need them for weapons, as you now have to press 'g' to pick them up, you will see this in the b186 ns2hd vid.

Yeah but you still need to see the weapon to stand on it.

Excellent idea, and easy to implement (just add an emmisive map to the texture, and BAM instant glowing cross). Get's my vote!

I'd prefer the Hud to become smart/active when you have radio communicated for a med pack. like a 3D red cross spinning/hovering above a dropped medpack pointing to it on the ground. Would only be visible after a radio medpack call in and would disapear after collection or time duratation. Same for ammo call ins.

Also the closest armory's distance in meters appear on the hud apon a radio call in.
