<div class="IPBDescription">suggestions of small improvements on build 187 Blink</div>There are a few issues with Fade blink in build 187:
Fades' currently acceleration during blink is rather extremely high, making it difficult to steer with precision. They also lack vertical air control. Forcing Fades to break Blink to free themselves from doorways or ceilings seems a bit silly to me.

Changes:
-Ethereal Acceleration reduced from 300 to 160.
-Vertical Blink air control added.
-<strike>Added some friction when movement keys are not pressed during Blink</strike>

Please try this (server) mod locally. I would love to hear your suggestions, so I can help polish up Blink, and hopefully Charlie will accept the improvements. :)

i not sure if the fade should be able to have much control during blink. if you "aim" initially in the right direction, you will have a good time with playing the fade. that's something we should not remove from the game by increasing the amount of control and lowering the skill level. one important thing to mention: good fades can deal with the current controls and blink exactly where they want. worse players will get stuck.

i would like to see only 1 improvement: move the fades position a little bit upwards when you start blinking, because sometimes tiny edges in the map geometry will block your movement. that's a bug in my eyes.

Is this a clientmod or can i replace the file on the server?

Fade isn't too hard to control just the strafing is impossible.
I agree with Schimmel a little hop on blinkstart wouldn't be the wrong thing.
Jumping while starting to blink is just...

But how to try the mod? Server or client side?

Sorry, I forgot to explain that this is a server mod. You can test it by hosting your own LAN server.

(Edit: Looks like Blink doesn't have any initial vertical force, which is why Fades can get stick on stairs.)

I try this mod an an empty server.
Cause the decrease of speed, the fade lose too much energy till he arives at marinestart for example. So he has not enough energy to escape.
Cant blink at ramps in summit correctly.

I think, this isnt the right way. Still biggest problem of the fade is the first "free hit" out of the blink i think.
    This should be adressed first.

Were you blinking without the Forward key? I added friction that is applied when none of the movement (WSAD) keys is used. I'll remove that.

it will produce jittering when you run it only on the server (the client will predict the movement wrong)

    Yes it will.

I'd like to clarify, that the purpose of this mod is mainly for prototyping Blink changes. Both the client and the server need to have the mod running.
