Please bringback the heavy machine gun. I always used it in ns1. It's large firing cone helped greatly. Currently marines are just sent out to the slaughter when lategame happens.
Tier 3 will be Dual-/ SingelMinigun (read smth about a Railgun to but don't remeber if it was a DEV or user) and the EXO/JP. Everything that needs protolab is Tier 3.
The current weapons are only tier 2, which as previously stated the new tier 3 weapons will be a minigun, railgun, and others that have not been mentioned yet, which also includes jetpacks and exosuits(replaces previous heavy armor).
Same thing goes for the aliens, which their tier 3 would include the Onos, as well as the new Shift upgrade chamber.

If you consider those tier 4 then how exactly do you view the current weapons?
The way it is currently set up is:
Tier 1
Rifle + shotgun (As in Ns1, are available practically from the moment the game starts (albeit shotgun takes a few moments to research now))
Tier 2
Grenade Launcher + Flame thrower (Require the advanced armory)
Tier 3 (coming soon)
Exosuit (allows miniguns + railguns) + Jetpacks + whatever UWE may still have planned but hasn't revealed yet. (Will require a prototype lab)
